Uniform and Equipment

Karate-gi must be clean and in good condition.
- Men: no T-shirt may be worn under the dogi.
- Women: a soft chest protector may be worn under a white T-shirt. The protector must not cover the solar plexus.
- Groin guard (cup protector) is mandatory.
- Mouthguard is optional.
- Bandages or taping are allowed only with authorization from the tournament physician.
- Fingernails and toenails must be kept short.
- Eyeglasses are not permitted during competition.
- No additional protective equipment is allowed beyond what is specified in these rules.
- Approved gloves must be MMA-type gloves with a maximum weight of 4 ounces.
- Competitors may not wear jewelry, watches, or any accessories during competition.
